Presidents Messages
Dear
Colleagues,
Once again, summer is over and fall has
begun. I am sure you all must have had a great time in summer. I wish the best
of luck for those who are working hard to appear for the CHT exam. Any one
needing any help or have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I will
try to do my best to answer your questions. It has been exciting year so far,
with wonderful speakers at monthly meetings and the review course in May,
attended by over 50 people. Even in summer we did not stop, except for in July.
We had excellent seminar in August on the Biomechanics of the Wrist and Forearm
and was attended by over 20 people (our # was limited to 20).Our speaker
Shrikant Chinchalkar gave an excellent presentation on this topic for 1 ½ days.
He is a very knowledgeable person, speaker and a great mentor. We were also
lucky to have two vendors who provided lunch and shared there products and
equipments. Our Sept. monthly meeting is on Elbow injuries. Our speaker is Dr.
TUNG LE from Kaiser Santa Clara
Hospital. He is a
Hand Surgeon and an Orthopedic Surgeon. I happened to have an opportunity to
work with him in Stanford. Please come prepared and bring your questions and
difficult
problems to discuss. This meeting
is a dinner meeting in a restaurant. We would appreciate if members would RSVP
us by the 10th of September in order for us to provide proper
accommodation for the Dinner Meeting
Our annual ASHT hand conference is in
North
Carolina
in Oct.20-24th.
For details please go on web site www.asht.org
Last but not least, I need help from all
of you if you want this organization to continue and provide the quality courses
we have brought to our members in the past. I have worked hard for many years
for this organization. I have been fortunate and privileged to be serving you.
But I am afraid I can’t do this for ever. I will need help and co-operation to
maintain the organization on a path of growth and success, not only within our
own state, but also in partnership with the national organization.
We will be holding elections by the end of
Nov.04. Please come forward and nominate anyone who is willing to take a
position in our chapter. (Requirements are that you have to be a member of ASHT
to belong to CA chapter). Simply e-mail me at prlalwani@aol.com
You can also call me at 1-408-887-3149.
Sincerely,
Prem Lawani, OTR, CHT
